Become a trustee

The RLSOI is now seeking the appointment of a number of new trustees to help take the board forward and support our commitment to enhancing the lives of others.

This is an exciting opportunity and time to join this historic Liverpool based organisation as we seek to reenergise our profile and further bolster the impact of our national family support programmes.

Ideally candidates should hold a solid understanding of good governance but training can be arranged. We would particularly welcome expertise in a specialism such as:

  • Family welfare and bereavement
  • Grant fundraising
  • Media/digital marketing and communication
  • Organisational management and leadership

Previous trustee experience is not necessary. Former beneficiaries of the RLSOI would also be encouraged to apply.

The role of a trustee is unremunerated but reasonable expenses can be claimed.

Time commitment: The board of trustees meet 4 times per year. With additional working group tasks, we would expect a trustee to be able to commit 2-3hours per month on governing and other development/support duties.

Should you wish to apply then, in the first instance, we would invite you to notify us directly via email providing a brief profile and reasoning for your interest. The email should be to our generic email address enquiries@rlsoi-uk.org and marked for the attention of our chair of the trustees “Mr Ian Higby”.
